Peanut is a desktop productivity app for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, snippets, translation, and writing workflows. This policy explains the data the app and website may process.
Information Peanut processes
Peanut may process account information, app settings, usage totals, text you submit to AI features, audio you record for transcription, selected text you ask Peanut to read or translate, and diagnostics needed to operate the app.
Service providers
Depending on your settings, Peanut may send audio or text to configured providers such as OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Firebase, GitHub release hosting, and analytics or diagnostics services. Bring-your-own API key mode routes provider usage through the keys you configure.
Local data
Peanut stores settings, history, snippets, and related app data on your device so the desktop workflow works across sessions. You can remove local app data through your operating system's app data controls.
Website data
The marketing website may receive standard server logs such as IP address, browser, page path, and referrer. If analytics are enabled, they are used to understand aggregate product interest and improve the site.
How we use data
We use data to provide transcription, speech playback, translation, snippets, account access, usage limits, support, security, product diagnostics, and service improvement. We do not sell your voice data.
