Get Peanut working smoothly.
Most setup issues are permissions, provider keys, or shortcut conflicts. Start here before reaching out.
Permissions
Grant microphone access so Peanut can record speech. On macOS, grant Accessibility permission so global shortcuts can work across apps.
Shortcuts
If a shortcut does not trigger, choose a combination that is not already owned by the operating system or the active app.
Providers
Use shared Peanut access after sign-in, or switch to bring-your-own API key mode for direct provider usage. Premium shared providers such as ElevenLabs require Pro access.
Downloads
New releases are published to the Peanut GitHub release channel. Existing installs can receive updates through the app updater.
